| Frederick County is located at the northern end of the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia and is bordered by West Virginia to the north and west. The county contains a range of landscapes, exhibiting everything from dense suburban development in the east, around the City of Winchester and the Interstate 81 corridor, to rolling hills, farms, orchards and wooded mountains to the west. The county is famous for its fruit orchards.
